About Me

Hi! Do you know about me?

The seeds of organic gardening were planted in my soul when I was a little girl. I remember sitting in the dirt while my father picked green beans, tomatoes and corn in the garden he so lovingly tended. I’ve always loved being close to nature, rubbing my feet in the soil and being wild and free!

As I got older my father started teaching me what he was doing in the garden.  He’d show me how to build raised beds and trellises, which way to orient the garden and what does and doesn’t go in a compost pile. We’d go to the nursery together and pick out seeds each spring which made us both feel so much joy and hope for the summer ahead.  It was an outing I looked forward to and still treasure as one of my favorite memories.

This is the story of the life of my garden, the way it changes each year, the successes and failures, the lessons learned and the bounty it provides. There is nothing that gives me a greater sense of satisfaction than preparing a beautiful meal from the backyard to nourish my family. The transfer of energy from the sun to the seeds to the plants to the plate is a miracle every time. I hope you enjoy following me on my journey!
