Green Thumb Sandwich

Have you ever grown alfalfa sprouts?  They’re SO easy, SO nutritious and SO delicious.  They have a light and refreshing flavor to them and add an interesting texture to any salad or sandwich.

My mother gifted me a Biostar stackable sprouter like this one.  It was so easy to grow the sprouts and I love that I’m able to grow several varieties at once.  I can even start them in successions so I have a constant supply of fresh sprouts.  It’s a very handy little addition to the whole food kitchen.

We went out for breakfast this morning at La Provence, and got there early enough to catch the fresh bread coming out of the oven.  It smelled AMAZING so I had to pick up a loaf of this seed bread.

I decided to make one of my favorite sandwiches, inspired by the Green Thumb Sandwich from Broma Bakery.

My sandwich features the gorgeous, bright green alfalfa sprouts that have been growing on the countertop, plus beautiful, fresh green leaf lettuce from the garden and cucumber to add some crunch.  I also added avocado and made an herbed cream cheese spread to add a little substance to this otherwise, very healthy sandwich.

It was such a good combo of fresh veggies, cheese, and fresh-baked bread.  Definitely a winner!
